We stopped at the huge US Air Force Base on the outskirts of Grand Forks ND. On weekends, visitors are not allowed entry, but we toured the display of aircraft in the garden at the main gate. A rare treat to get up close to some of these famous aircraft.

... dropped me at a town called Floodwood and I was so tired I set up my tent for the night. Floodwood was a nice little town. I slept right by the river and made myself a fire. I ate at the only diner in town and the local men bought me breakfast after I shared my story with them. Then I headed back to US2. My first ride was another 10 miler. ... anyway so I stopped at the air museum. Very interesting to see the air instruments of war until I was reminded of the horrors of war when I saw the wall of dogtags of our men and women that have lost their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan. What a shame.

Found a nice campground almost on the border - and did a bikeride before we headed out today. Tonight we connect with friend Gretchen in Voyageur National Park.
