Woke up cranky today. My own fault though; I drank a bottle of Coca-Cola about an hour before going to bed and then couldn't get to sleep for nearly another two hours. Sorry, Mom. Breakfast helped marginally, and by mid-day I was feeling better. We drove on Highway 15 northbound, going through customs at Coutts, Alberta. That went relatively quickly: where are you from, how long have you been in the US, what's ...

... the foothills in the distance and the huge fields of wheat. This is real ranch country and I even saw cowboys on horseback. As I passed through Nanton the Saturday morning market was in full swing. The town also boasts an Air Museum, the Lancaster Bomber Command museum with a plane situated outside the open hangar doors. The Graham's were really lovely upon leaving and they left us a bunch of food and a couple if Bongongo caps to wear :) I loved there company! Allana and I met Emily for a lovely breakfast and to see her again! She's such a lovely friend to have and I'll miss her till I get home and see her ...

... to the final, whilst some were timed events, and the 4 fastest went through. The top 5 in each event also won money each day, and some had already won about $15000 before the final had even started!

Once the rodeo had finished, we went back into the stampede park and carried on having a look at the displays. In the agriculture centre, we watched a cow-milking demonstration, before seeing a few farm animals, including piglets, lambs, calves, and even ...

... there was so much choice and rather cheap too for the huge portion sizes! After a good chat, we decided to walk down to the river so Devon could show us around. We crossed over the river on what was called the 'Peace Bridge'. It's quite new and is pretty cool to look at, it's just for pedestrians too which is good. The river seemed quite high as they had had a lot of rain the past week. However, last year they had an awful, unexpected flood ...
