    ... through a time zone and lost an hour. We are now only 6 hours behind the UK.

    One notable thing with us all day was the haze and smog as a result of wildfires in the area. In fact by the end of our journey the sun had all but disappeared.

    ... than about 6 1/2 feet inside, beckoned us on our way back from exploring the city. It was evening, perhaps around 10 pm. Although the sign indicated that it was always open, the front door had "closed from 9 pm to 7 am" handwritten on a piece of paper and taped to its front. Nevertheless I tried the door anyway, and found it open.

    Although the lights did not work, from what I could see in the dusk, it looked adorable ...

    ... to remind myself of how lucky I am. I shouldn't have to be staring up at the stars with my toes dipping in the Mediterranean to feel inspired and fulfilled.     ... of holidays - went to the movies, read books, played cards, watched hockey. We went to a Wheatkings game - major junior hockey - so boys from around 15 to 20 trying to get drafted to the NHL. Kinda like the TAC Cup for AFL I think. Lots of fights of course - it's what the league is known for. Was pretty relaxing really. The drive back - we did it all in one day - was pretty touch.
