... so had a very nice few hours there even though sunshine was a rarity.

We took the opportunity of a reasonably early return to Temecula to give Will the chance to spend his birthday money which, together with his life savings (!) was enough to get him an iPod Touch - so thanks to all the grandparents and aunts/uncles who contributed so generously.

Thence back to Vail Lake for an evening swim before bedtime. Another big day tomorrow, and the boys have no idea where we're ...

We arrived in Oceanside California, Camp Pendleton Marine Corp Base on March 13. We had a good drive from Mesa stopped one overnight and then on to our destination. We have had a great time here. As it turns out we are camped right where I was born! The hospital is just a stones throw away from our campsite! Yes I am a California Girl...born here on Camp Pendleton. It has been pretty amazing ...
