... sausage a la salsa on an open fire, drank rather too much wine and danced around to the tinny sound of the iPad, and actually slept because it wasn't freezing cold (and ok maybe the wine had something to do with it) - brilliant! The only thing that spoiled it was some total BEEP BEEP BEEP nicked our camping chairs in the night. Who steals camping chairs, seriously?!?! It hasn't put us off but we have an appointment with the bright lights of LA, back to the city we go...
... so had a very nice few hours there even though sunshine was a rarity.
We took the opportunity of a reasonably early return to Temecula to give Will the chance to spend his birthday money which, together with his life savings (!) was enough to get him an iPod Touch - so thanks to all the grandparents and aunts/uncles who contributed so generously.
Thence back to Vail Lake for an evening swim before bedtime. Another big day tomorrow, and the boys have no idea where we're ...
... legos all over the place. We all went on our first ride and then Dad got a call that our room was ready. The Dads went over to unpack, trade cars and check in. While they did that, the rest of us went to Playland. Then we walked over to the Star Wars figures...then to MiniLand...then to more Star Wars figures....then to lunch...then to the elevator....then to our room...WOW WOW AND WOW. Pirates stuff everywhere, cool bunk beds, a fancy toilet, and more ...
I love the beach. I'm a real beach bunny and could hang out with the sun, sea and sand most days, given the opportunity. A towel, a swimsuit and a good book goes a long way to making me happy. We come to southern California about four times a year. I have to admit that more often than not the weather isn't the best for hanging out at the beach when we're here. ... girls wanted to do more shopping and i was interested in getting a marathon watch that does the gps amongst other things. Sarah ended up with a pair of boots that she has been craving to buy and i got the watch that i was after so it was another successful shopping adventure. The suitcase (renamed shoecase) we bought is going to come in very handy.
