Day 3 - The Day the Time Kept Changing!
What a day! I write this from our hotel room in Page, Arizona, where I'm sat in the armchair with my feet elevated up on the bed to try and bring some life back to my poor legs. I thought holidays were supposed to be relaxing!
We were up again at 6am and decided to go over to the new Aria hotel which is next door South of us. We were there …
Day 4 - The Day the Canyon was a Washout!
I was awake and up again at 5am this morning. Less than 5 hours sleep! Bloody air con unit keeps coming on loudly through the night. Still it meant we could get organised early for our planned hike. A bit of a comedown today with our breakfast buffet; no ice cream, pizzas, roast chicken, noodles or crab claws, instead we got our free Days Inn …
Page and Lake Powell
We eventually got to Page, at about 7.30pm. It has been a really long hard day. We checked into the Days Inn, which is really nice, with a view of the huge Wal-Mart, and Lake Powell. Page too was in the centre of about 4 huge thunderstorms, so we went out onto our balcony to watch, before coming in to watch The Weather Channel all about Hurricane …

Historical Traveler Reviews Days Inn & Suites Page / Lake Powell
Too hot and noisy to sleep
We stayed on a Wednesday night. The room was about average, but here's the problems: The room was on the west side of the hotel in the sun and on the highway side. The temp was about 85 outside. We couldn't get the air conditioner to stay on and get the room cooled. The unit was noisy, also when it cycled on and off. All night the semi's on the highway came down the hill with their engine brakes on and they were loud. The room was near the elevator which was loud and clanging. The hotel is on the south side of town just off highway 89 and on the long downhill to Glen Canyon Dam. There is no view except of a new motel being constructed between the Days Inn and the dam. There are no restaurants nearby. There was a group of 15-20 people having a little party at the front door. They weren't real loud... We asked the staff the next morning about the air conditioner and we were told that they just work that way. We feel like the rooms would never be cool.
We will stay next time at the Best Western which is in town and has a great view of Lake Powell.
We loved the hotel, the staff, the price, and the location
We checked in for 2 nights on May 4, 2005. We were tired from a long day when we checked in and inquired at the desk about where we could make reservations for a raft trip. The desk took care of the reservations for us, made recommendations of things to see and to do in the area and also guided us to some great places to eat. Page is very small in square miles, so the Days Inn was close to everything including Wal Mart and the grocery store. The room was clean, attractive, and spacious, had a small fridge, and I really can't think of anything negative about our stay there!! They also had a computer set up in the lobby with internet access for the guests to use free of charge. After we checked in, the desk called to make sure that everything was satisfactory. We had stayed at 4 other hotels on our trip before we arrived at Page, and I must say the staff at the Days Inn really made me feel pampered in comparison. We really loved Page and our stay at the Days Inn.
We took the free tour of the Glen Canyon Dam, the float trip on the Colorado River, and took a trip to Antelope Canyon. I would recommend all three to anyone who has time to do these things while they are in Page. I couldn't believe that we got such a wonderful room at such a low price and I would recommend the Days Inn to everyone.
The best in Page
The best choose in the Lake Powell area. Big and clean room and bath, nice location and very very good price.
I was there last 30 and 31 march 2005. I surely come back next time!

Very nice property & convenient location
This property is certainly among the best Days Inns I have stayed at. Everything was fine, staff very friendly, only perhaps the location of the pool right next to the parking lot is not the best. I enjoyed my two nights in Page and would return to this property on my next visit.
Excellent!
We stayed here for one night in Sept. 2004 on our way to Monument Valley.
The hotel is obviously quite new and we found it to be excellent in every way. The room was very big and very clean. Facilities were very good and plenty of parking available. The staff were very friendly and we enjoyed muffins, doughnuts and coffee for breakfast all included in the price.
Arriving into Page from the North Rim, it was almost the first hotel we came across and very easy to find on the main road. Plenty of 'eateries' locally ranging from fast food (Jack in a Box next to the hotel) to the restaurant we went to, which was Ken's Old Western Diner about a mile away (also recommended).
Very nice!
The Days Inn was very clean, well run, and new.
As you ride into town from the south, the hotel is on your right side.
It sits next to a fast food restaurant and a Shell gas station..
It's only a 3-5 minute ride into the business district and only a 5 minute drive to the Glen Canyon dam which is visible from the hotel.
We got a king suite with jacuzzi for $89! Regular rooms were $59!
Highly recommended!
Would not really call it great
Would not really call "great" a room by the ice-machine but no fridge in the heat of the beginning of August and with the sign displaying the lowest nightly rate on its terrace (but it could all be because I had not made reservations directly with the hotel but through Expedia).
I did talk to one friendly front desk clerk, but that was only one the phone when I called to confirm a late check in: never met that lady in person. Honestly, I did not see one single smile until check out, and I had to wave at housekeeping attendants and yell "goodmorning" first...
Also, they would charge you for the in-room safe, which had never happened to me before.
Breakfast was below average, with very limited choice.
The room was at any rate clean and towels in the right number. I had had a great experience at another Days Inn (Holbrook) and I guess I had placed high expectations on this hotel.
Friendliest Staff
Without a doubt the friendliest and most helpful staff I have ever encountered at any hotel. We needed two rooms next to each other and they did everything they could to accomodate our request. The AC didn't work in one of the rooms and they had us in another room right away. They let us keep our things in the first room and gave us another room to sleep in. They had the AC fixed the next day. The manager was incredibly helpful with directions and suggestions about the best ramp to dock our boat etc. There was plenty of RV parking. My only complaint is that the AC unit was noisy and the breakfast wasn't all that great. We will stay here on all future trips.
Scots stick together
I have to agree with my fellow countryman (see last review). Good standard of accomodation with nice pool.
It's a bit out of centre of Town, so we had to drive 5 mins for Restaurant. Otherwise, this place is recommended.
Great Value Hotel
Fast, friendly service. Beautiful clean room and continental breakfast thrown in. This was a welcome change to some of the other hotels we had experienced through Arizona. Everything worked and the cost was under $75. Best value motel we encountered in our two week stay. Highly recommend.
