... from the put-in. It was a lovely spot - perfect for camping but camping is not allowed there. It has a little sandy beach where Otto fed some fish with bread and hopes to bring his grandson Milo. I took some photos with the macro part of my waterproof camera.

... they weren't optimal. One was too sttep. One was too far away. While exploring the put-ins, we met a couple from the Carolina's who had spent much time in the Adirondacks when they lived in Rochester. Oh, oh - was she Chris and I have forgotten his name. Very pleasant people. They said they were checking out some of the historical sights. Otto suggested we follow Tahawus road and see what we could see.

We checked out of our hotel and went on a boat tour of Lake Placid. We enjoyed seeing the many "camps" along the lake -many with only boat access. The term "camp" is misleading as many of these are multimillion dollar properties. We heard the story of Mabel Smith Douglass who mysteriously drowned after boating only to be found ...

... at Dancing Bear always gave us an enthusiastic "yeah" with any request we made. Our breakfast waitress at Dancing Bear barely spoke beyond the necessary questions and comments. We ate dinner at Player's Sports Bar two nights. Cassie, our waitress was also an enthusiastic college students studying math. We also saw her at while eating breakfast around town.

... snooping through stores led to a dinner by Mirror Lake. Players sports bar has outdoor seating and while a little chilly-it was nice to sit by the water and have dinner. We watching the semi-final soccer game between Japan and England in Spanish (due to a TV issue). we're looking forward to sunnier skies tomorrow! ...
