We stayed here for two nights while on a tour. My only regret, that we couldn't stay longer. I loved everything about this hotel from the décor, the room to the friendliness of the staff. It was very well situation within walking to the main tourist sites. Definitely a place to come back to.

Now that I had the rest of the afternoon free, I debated whether to take a Rajasthani cooking class or a boat ride to a small island occupied by a 17th century palace to have lunch and wander around! Hmm! Without any hesitations, the latter was chosen!

Before arriving in the city, we had a special treat in the outskirts village of Ravla Khempur. This came in the form of an overnight stay in the one and only Best Exotic Marigold hotel. Made famous by the film of the same name starring Judy Dench, Maggie Smith, Bill Nighy and Dev Patel. The hotel did not actually exist as such until after the films …

It appeared that luck was on my side because otherwise, I wouldn't be here witnessing the vistas! A mere two hours earlier, the dark cloudy sky which enveloped the horizon passed right next to this city and continued its course elsewhere making room for a beautiful sunset …
