    ... with nothing but farms on both sides. We passed through many small towns - below 1000 residents - with names like Sleepy Eye, New Ulm, Revere, and Tracey. We did find some real civilization when we stopped for coffee at a McDonald's in Rochester Minnesota, home of the Mayo Clinic. It was the only time I ever saw a McDonald's employee carrying around a pot of regular and decaf coffee and asking everyone if they wanted a refill. ...

    ... of wind turbines ( ugly). Drove until 9:15 to gain some ground. Made into South Dakota and lucked into a nice state park.     I'm not sure why but it seems to take a lot longer to get out of a hotel in the morning than I think it should. I guess I am going to have to plan on getting up earlier or just adjust my expectations.     From the Spam museum we traveled westward. The farm land is really pretty. We got off the highway at Sioux Falls to find some supper. It was the strangest exit. There were semi-truck dealers all along the road. We saw Volvos, Peterbuilts, and a few others. So exit 399 in Sioux Falls is the place to buy a big rig. After driving for a bit we finally found a mini-mall that had two restuarants in it, one pizza and the other Chinese. The kid ...
