We left Chiang Mai in the direction of Bangkok, stayed a night along the way, and then took the toll roads around the edge of the city. A little detour to the airport and we finally got our leftover Burmese money changed. It was hot and humid so we decided to head for the coast and reached Pattaya late in the afternoon.

... you dangled your feet to have the dead skin eaten off. At19.45 for apperos we all emptied a bottle of duty free vodka in Michel and Nichole's room. The others went off to eat in a restaurant we'd visited on the first night and to wander the red light district. Amanda and I had a steak sandwich and a coconut soup. We arrived at the bus station set to go to Koh Tao or "Turtle Island" as it is translated. 90% of people I know who have been to Thailand and seen the various islands (as it is the done thing) have remarked that Tao was their favourite. It was surprizing to use in the waves in Bali as normal SLE kites you want to keep low so you do not over fly them and this helps them from not falling out of the sky if you end up going toward them too much.
