... and we arrived safely at the Golden Reclining Buddha. With tired legs, we then walked in search of a seafood restaurant, for which Koh Yor has an excellent reputation. We weren't disappointed, and after a meal of huge freshwater prawns, a spicy seafood salad and a whole snapper fish cooked in lemon and garlic we felt we'd made up for the last two months without seafood. Unfortunately in doing so we splurged a whole day's budget on one meal, so have had to resolve ...

... but i did visit some of the famously known islands.
The first island we visited was the Koh Phi Phi. The word "Koh" means Island in english, thus as a translation we went to the Phi Phi Island. Phi Phi Island is situated near Krabi, and it was quite a long journey from Phuket before we reached Koh Phi Phi. From Phuket, we can chose whether we would want to board a speedboat or a cruise as a mode of transportation from the main ...

... The bus is on dry land most of
the time but occasionally drives down flooded roads making a wake in
its passage. TJ is confused because he can see the setting sun on his
left, which means he is heading north. Malaysia is definitely south.

    The
bus stops in Nakhon Phatom, at a train station. This is the only way
to travel to the south of Thailand. A three hour ...

... out, got about 4 hours sleep. The flight from KL to Hat Yai (Thailand) was about 45 mins so that’s how long I slept for.

I was met at the airport by Ram the project manager and Chris a volunteer who arrived the day before. Waiting in the truck was Deng who also works at the project full time and drives the most amazing pink truck ever. Ram is your stereotypical Thai, she smiles all the time and is sooo funny. We made our way to ...

Don't ever rely on Thai Transport

... we left Kota Baru. I was quite sad
to say goodbye to this little city as I really felt a cool vibe about
it. I enjoyed the food, accommodation and people. Anyway, we caught a
bus to the border to cross into Thailand. I am disappointed that I
didn't take washing powder and water on the busride as the jerking and
bouncing could have surely washed my clothing in no time. It was the
sort of bouncing that made it difficult to have ...
