... a very light flavoured red (the kind that you enjoy the more you drink it) and Erin was taken by the Muscat while I was induced to buy some of the Pennyweight Gold - a really lovely dessert wine that isn't too sweet.

We still felt like there was a lot of the day left at 3pm so we headed then to the Bridge Road microbrewery, which is located in the city centre! They'd set the area up really well with a great outdoor drinking area connected to a roomy bar set with ...

Beechworth, Victoria, Australia macphails... low prices. I am still perplexed by her about-face, as it seems to me that as Christians, (or as people in general) it makes no sense at all if we send money to third world countries to help ease their poverty, then buy from companies which create that poverty in the first place by providing poor work conditions. She did not seem to agree. For more info on the ethics of large companies, visit ethical.org.au, a website which has some great information about the benefits or ...

Albury, New South Wales, Australia tstewyBus to Albury. SO HOT! Theres a major heat wave going through Aus right now. Temps in the 105-110 range where I am. It makes walking any sort of distance with a backpack pretty unfun. I did basically nothing in Albury, got in about 9 pm, left around 11 the next morning. To be honest, it didnt seem to have much to offer and I had no desire to stick around longer than I had to.

Gundowring, Australia thomaskemp... we drove around just looking at the country side - we crossed Lake Hume over the old course of the Murray on the Betanga Bridge and were suddenly back in Victoria. We found a nice scenic lookout. After that we drove to the Hume Dam - this is now cordoned off to traffic, but we could walk out on it, and we took some scenic photos. Back to the van and a welcome cup of tea, but not before finding out water turned off. Investigation ...
Gerogery, Australia newtripper... packed a picnick and climbed up Mount Budgee, a hill towering in the middle of the desert lands to see the sun rising while having breakfast. On our way back, the golden morning sun fell on the fight of a herd of white parrots with pink bellies and later on, on a mare and her colt in an astonishing green field. What stroke me then was the richness of the colours of nature around me.
