... views. Tonight we have booked a hotel so that we can save time from not setting up the tent to have a look at the city. We went to the War Museum which was interesting and the Australian museum, again worth a visit and both these attractions were free. We then walked around the lake and got a feel of Canberra city. It is very small, very clean and very quiet.

We checked into our hotel, went out for a meal and back to bed.

... on top of the bed spread. The carpet had holes in it and it smelled musty. Nevertheless, we unloaded and then went for a walk along the river that was recommended by the hotel owners. We tracked the river for awhile and then heard some birds screeching loudly. We saw that they were wild Cockatoos. Whole flocks of them!

This is the start of our road trip from NSW to WA.
Day one- on our way!
We left Bowral, NSW, after having to go to Bunnings to get a part to attach the roof rack on! And we headed to Goulburn for lunch at a place near 'Rambo' the big merino. Lunch was a pie and the dogs were welcome to sit with us in their verandah area.

... me. That said, last night, whilst being shown around the house we accidentally locked him in the art studio and only realised this when he went smack into the glass doorway. We soon came to his aid and released him and after a bit of attention he was back to his normal self sniffing around for food - he needs to be told that my trainer does not constitute food!

We later met up with with Hannah who is the eldest daughter of Bernadette and Stephen and who will be joining ...
