... lots of different wines - pinot noir and c******nay grow particularly well there. I didn't realise vineyards were so beautiful and it has definitely encouraged us to do similar tours. We're heading to the Grampians National Park later, where we're based for two nights. Being out in the car has been great, but the sat nav has been invaluable, especially with my map reading skills. Love to all R&J xxx

Schafsaison

Melbourne - Day 7

... up to the viewing tower with beautiful views over the valley. The next stop was Yerring Station, another larger winery, which apparently supplies wine to Majestic Wines in the UK (good to know). There we tried a San Giovese, a great rose and fortified Shiraz. the guy guiding us throught the wines seemed to have had a glass or 2 before we arruved and was very entertaining. The final stop on the tour was Domaine Chandon, owned by Moet-Chandon. We got a tour of the ...

... man damit verrückte Kurven werfen kann. Okay, wie verrückte Kurven man da wirklich mit rollen kann, weiß ich überhaupt nicht... That night we went out to eat at the Farmer's Arms. Now their sign has actual arms, as in legs on them. I thought it was very funny. The food was amazing. Really really good. Starters thru dessert delicious. And they had Kilkenny on tap. It was like I had died and gone to heaven. Abends sind wir bei den Farmers Arm Pub Essen ...

The end of one trip, the start of another

... Jim. Who, despite being in his eighties managed to get everyone sorting out glasses of red wine for him and then had himself sat in the middle of all the ladies. The Sunday was supposed to be the day we finished packing up the house. Unfortunately Lindsey had drunk a little too much on the Saturday night and wasn't exactly 100%. She did perk up though late afternoon after a little bit of Nando's. Manc & Manc removals did the job though as Feysal and I packed the van ...

... afield over the next few days in a hire car - Philip Island to see some penguins, the 12 Apostles via the Great Ocean Road and Williamstown. Before we leave Melbourne there are a few parks in the city to see and of course, the holy grail of the MCG (the Melbourne Cricket Ground - a truly magnificant arena that seats 95,000). Melboune Park where the Austrlian Open tennis is held will also be taken in - can't wait. The hostel is good ...
