After 191 days, 36 states, and over 7,300 miles, it's time. That's right. It pains me very much to do this, but 6 months on the road has taken a very heavy toll.

So, I must now officially announce that my 27 1/4" Continental Gatorskin front tire and my 20 year old, size 9 Shimano biking shoes have finally seen their final miles. The trusty tire was one especially made for touring with super tough Kevlar ...

Jeff had organised a pontoon boat for the day so we picked it up around 9:30 and motored to the bait shop, the Kangaroo .. lol. We picked up a bucket of minnows and then went to one of his favourites spots on the lake to try for some crappies and some catfish.

It was incredible to be grubby travellers bouncing along in our oversized kitchen appliance camping at Walmart and then to be amongst a family with home cooked meals in woodland lake paradise. Thanks also to Dale and Cathy for the ride in the chopper (Robbie 66 beaut machine), for another lovely meal and a blast on a stupidly powerful jetski (I’m just starting to get some colour back in my knuckles). After a bit of a wrong turn and some time studying the owner's manual for the Navigation system, we finally made it from Baltimore to Virginia to visit Brother/Son, Bret. Today, we headed to Medoc Mountain State Park to
complete hike #40 from the 100 Classic Hikes. We started at the main
parking lot and hiked the Stream Loop Trail to the second intersection
with Discovery Loop Trail and took this to the bridge over Little
