... a lookout over a beach where little Blue Penguins came ashore each evening and the second was not paying to see Yellow Eyed Penguins at another beach. The catch with the latter was that you had to walk 2.5km to the bay however we didn't see this as much of an issue and so duly made our way to the car park. ... at all. In the afternoon we drove down the Tasman Valley Road to the start of a short walk with glacier views. Tasman Lake didn't exist in 1973 but does so now as a result of glacial retreat. ... my stroll along the sea front to the penguin colony, sadly, to get a photo of the infamous penguin crossing sign!
