Another sunrise start to cross western Lake Erie before the wind kicks up. It did indeed start calm with a light west wind. The wind went north and picked up so that we had two to three foot waves on our bow. Not too bad but it was nice to reach the Detroit River.

We spent the day checking out our surroundings and giving the boat a cleaning - or should I say de-bugging. This is fish fly and may fly season and they are pretty thick everywhere. They get squished on the decks and sidewalks and STINK! Just after sunset they swarmed in the sky looking like fast moving black clouds. It was kind of creepy.
