    ... camps, these sites of horror show the human side of a historic event and the suffering that people endured. The centre of the city which was destroyed is now a peace park – very well done. We ended our week with a day in Tokyo and toured the centre by bus. A big thank-you to Helen C. for all her suggestions for a Japan trip.

    ... teacher/friend made an appointment for me today and took me to the salon. The big difference is that your hair is cut first and then washed. Because I had pictures from the last time Kim cut my hair home, language wasn't a problem and all went well. TIm just got home and he had 2 shampoos and blow dries with his short hair!

    One more week of school (still long, tiring days) and we're off for a week. We have out tickets to fly ...

    This was kind of an early morning we had to be up and out for the tour Billy booked at 9:30. We had a lovely breakfast in the hotel then meet up with our tour guide Jeanette. We went to various museums, parks and buildings. We had lunch at a cantonese restaurant and visited the markets. I played a sort of kick ups game with some locals in the park.     This was a very long day which started quite late due to the previous late night at the casinos.     Lots of new experiences this week with a number of celebrations. Monday was a holiday for many Chinese, but our school stayed open. It was the mid fall moon feast, celebrated by giving friends and relatives boxes of moon cakes - nasty things, according to my kids.
