... We were aloud to pet the eagles before they were called back to their handlers. We then visited the Big Buddha, it is on top of a mountain with amazing views over Phuket. There were some of the usual market stalls there as well as some wood carvings. A path went right up to the foot of the big Buddha. We didn't spend very long here because there was chanting/prayer being played loudly through speakers. Next stop was Chalong temple. There are 3 separate buildings ...

Tomorrow will be a painful day, as we have to do a massive BA in order to make Argo shine for the race, in two ...

Slight problem when we arrived (and our taxi had departed) was that they didn't take plastic - the entrance fee was 1600bahts and we only had about 400THB cash on us. Not to worry though - we are in Thailand!!!! We explained to the girl in the ticket office that ...

So we hit the ground running and quickly procured ourselves a vehicle - in the form of a little rental moped at a bargain 300 baht per day. And what a beast it was - it was like a toy - 100cc of pure muscle - topped out at about 80kph. After consulting the oracle - this wise old Thai woman who is one of the managers here and getting her to draw on the slightly ropey free map where I could see elephants, off we shot. So the thing about maps here, is that they are ...
