... close to the marina that has music coming from it. I ate a lamb dish for dinner and since the Greeks eat dinner very late in the day and will frequently make an evening of it, it wasn't until close to 11 PM that we left the taverna.
I went back to the yacht to dress in my club clothes and to go to one of the few dance clubs that remained open over the winter. Although it wasn’t packed, the club was still a lot of fun and we had a great time.
It’s a little cool outside for a party island that is famous for its nude beaches and all-night dance clubs. This is the first time that I wished we were visiting Greece during the tourist season since the town almost feels empty and the beaches deserted.
This is ...

One of the most recognized landmarks on Mykonos has been their windmills. These mills were once used to refine grain and compact it for transport. A fairly strong wind year round made this a great location.
The intinerary had the Ruby departing Mykonos at 2pm so we made our way back to the tender at the marina in plenty of time to catch a lunch on board. After lunch, we chose to relax around the ...
... early to get yourself the best viewing positions. After the romantic sunset we finished the evening with a lovely dinner before getting the bus back to the campsite. It's funny but the most romantic day we had was a day I put no preparation into at all. We spent a glorious day sunning ourselves on the beach of Perissia. It was such a hot day that the black sand was impossible to walk bear-foot on. Lazing in the shallows soaking up the sun it was magnificent. For our dinner it was ...

... to construct which makes me wonder why so many were needed. I'm thinking the land was divided and re-divided over the years as it was handed down from generation to generation making the parcels today quite small. I cut through fields of hay that had recently been harvested as well as potato fields. I saw potatoes but wasn't sure if they were rejects or if the field just had not been harvested yet. The road I took, of course, didn't track along the ...
Naxos, Cyclades, Greece rnriggins... up there which had a very old Byzantine icon inside above the alter. We took a look at the acheological museum there too, it was mainly marble Cycladic sculpture, pots, jewellery and tools from as far back as 5000-3000BC! The streets with bourgenvillia vines draped across them and the crumbling ventian houses got me, as I wandered around taking photos. So were ready for a bit of adventure so we hired quad bikes and went on a massive all ...
Naxos, Greece rhibeez... I took our bike and wandered through the island a bit. (I felt like i was in the the Long Way Around...so adventurous...haha) It was great fun and we went along the coast and stopped off at a beach for a little while. I stayed in town that night as I had to catch my ferry this morning, but the two of us had a nice final evening together and indulged in some freshly made greek pastries by the port:) So now I am in ...
Naxos, Greece mkosmackOk, so I've calmed down a bit since last night. Of course, not ALL Greeks are that bad so apologies if I offended anyone. I watched the sun set into the sea on the horizon last night and it was beautiful - like something you think you'll only ever see in the movies. Today I didn't go to the port. I guess effectively I've quit. So that leaves ...
Naxos, Greece laurajaneHow on Earth did I get to be so lucky?
My family and I went on a cruise of the Greek Islands. We ate a lot, got sea sick once, soaked up the sun, and absorbed the classically beautiful white and blue colours on the islands. There weren't very much ship activities that my sister and I were interested in but Allyson and I did win a bingo game! Mykonos was by far our favorite island because of its beauty.
