Day 66. Whitehaven Beach (4th best in the world?)

Boy oh boy we needed the sleep. Unfortunately the bed was a bit hard but at least we got 10hrs in as the crew woke us up at 0630. Standard, cereal, fruit and toast for breakfast. By 0700 we had already set off with several people still waking up. As we looked out at sea we spotted some fins pop up and down, luckily for us, the staff thought they were dolphins.

First port of call was the famous Whitehaven beach with its stunning white shifting sands. The rib with its ...

      The morning after the party

In the morning we were nursing our heads from the night before. Me and Heather decided to have a water fight at who knows what time in the morning and we were completely soaked! It was comical going to breakfast in the morning because everyone looked as rough as hell, and even if they didn't feel hungover, people were tired from late nights and early mornings. We snorkelled again on another spot on the Great Barrier ...

We spent the last three days aboard The Clipper. The Clipper is the name boat we are sailing around the Whitsunday islands on and it's the party boat. Yesterday the day was more a getting to know everyone aboard as there is 52 of us!! We got shown our rooms - they are soooo tiny, me and Char are sharing a double bed and there is a girl below us and there really isn't any room. We had a few bags which had our clothes in and the floor space was gone, I don't know ...

      Day 60

A travel blog entry by becky_whitmore on Oct 19, 2014

We did our final snorkel of the trip this morning and it was really good, some of the coral was really beautiful and there was more varieties of fish here to see, some of them I looked at for a long time because they were so pretty and interesting; one fish was a lovely turquoise colour and had pink running through it, almost like stripes, that was my favourite.
We went to Whitehaven Beach in the afternoon, voted the 2nd most beautiful beach in the world. We took some ...

I arrive at Airlie Beach at 7am, I managed about 4 hours of sleep on the bus which is good for me! But I'm shattered. I can't check in to the sailing place until 8:30am so I go and get breakfast and a coffee. Between check in and arriving at the boat I realise I've left my Converse on the bus!! :-( Once on the boat we spend some time sunbathing on deck and getting to know each other and then we ...
