After a couple of frantic days in Townsville trying to organise ourselves and change our mindset from camping to sailing we departed Townsville at 4.30am for Airlie Beach, arriving at 8am, transferring 7 days of supplies from the car to the sail boat, getting a 4 hour briefing of the boat and Whitsunday’s we then set sail for our solo 7 day sail of the Whitsunday’s.

It was very exciting but also a little daunting. Two hours latter we made it to Hook Island ...

After a very good night sleep we awoke and went to Blinky beach. Water was a bit cold and the waves were big but we had a wonderful wake up watching the sun rise. Back by 11 then we are halving lunch at Pinetrees. Their shout!!! We had very nice fish with salads and ...

Rocked to sleep, we literally slept like babies.

We saw dolphins, turtles, rays, and ...

After a late start, it was off to the shuffleboard court for a quick game - we figured it would fill in a couple of minutes (10 to be exact) and as we didn’t know the rules, it was more a game of who could get their disc in the right spot as opposed to a proper game. Having tried our hand at shuffleboard, we turned our attentions to indoor activities. While we were ...

... and the gears aren't good. We will go to Wilsons and get new ones. We went snorkelling on the reef with Peter. The fish and coral are amazing and I had no idea it was that beautiful. We went to three different spots. Coffee and chocolate cake was waiting for us at the end. Sun was out and everything was perfect. Dinner at the anchorage and I organised the BBQ diner on Tuesday with David. Food was excellent and my two Martinis were superb. Home around 9 and straight to ...
