    ... Spanish skills. People are convinced that we speak Spanish fluently because we nod as they talk, when in fact we get only partially what they say. Some people are great at slowing down their speech, but most don't until we tell them that we don't speak Spanish well. Then they add gestures and speak a little slower and louder. But so far we manage. Onto Bogata.

Again I want to venture looking for a hotel along the road to Espinal or Girardot with a backup address in my pocket. But along the road I only find a hotel with a reasonable price for six hours. Sad tears because we will have to leave all of them, but happy tears because we have gotten to know them, build many friendships with them, and love them so much.
