... for a couple of years and at last have found someone who knew what was wrong. It appears it is an electric joint that is not making a good connection. It only needed the connection swapping over and we are fixed. It took us a couple of days to do this and so we stopped at a private campsite just outside the town.

... The footage circa 1930's was excellent as he filmed atop the mast of a magnificent square rigger cargo ship and he filmed life aboard as it sailed, it was rivettiing. We took refuge in a café as it was freezing and windy and wet and enjoyed empanadas while watching crash disasters on the TV in the café. We took ourselves back to the accommodation to wait out time before going to the airport for our flight to Porto Montt. The rain got heavier and the sky blacker. At the ...

We arrived at what was to be our first tendered port but so late in the day that the Chilean authorities denied us entry into the port so the best we could do was to look at the city from the harbour while we waited for our pilot to organize our sail plan for the Chilean fjords.

... town (where there are a few nice century-old buildings), but after that it's been a real Patagon weather. Here when it's sunny it's hot, when it's windy it's cold, and when it's rainy it's really wet, but the main problem is that everything comes together! :) I found myself under a blazing sun being beaten down by gusts of wind while rain was falling on the city, but when I looked up the sky was completely cloudless! With all that wind the drops may ...

They agree to buy the bikes for the asking price. We had to wait until 11:00a.m. for Aduana to open and fill in the paperwork, so we parked the bikes across from the office and we all went out for some breakfast. We headed back to the office and filled in the paperwork. The new owners are ...

Old Trees - Sarmientos

... to be wood...but were stone. It was a worth while trip although it involves a private taxi (remis they call it here) to take us 30 kilometres to the place, wait for one hour and then bring us back. Weather seems to be following us with a high 23 degrees celsius and 24 grades humidity, so this afternoon we will have a walk (7 kilometers) to on of the lakes and apparently we can have a good swim there

... a local drink called, I believe, pisco. I am sure Carol will correct me on that if I am wrong. We stayed around the fire for some time until it was time to serve dinner. They had a table there where the spitted, cooked lamb was placed and carved. The carved pieces were taken to a room just off the dining room and placed in a large grill to finish cooking. They had salads, veggies, and potatoes which they served buffet style, then you went to select your piece of ...
