... Moto Hakone port and picturesque Lake Ashi (part of Hakone National Park). On a clear day Mt. Fuji appears beyond the northwestern lakeshore, but it was a mostly cloudy kind of day. I am also beginning to realize that Fuji is perhaps the shyest mountain in existence; I was not surprised it remained hidden. However, there is plenty to see in the 5 Fuji lakes region and I was determined to have some fun. The Fuji Five Lakes region is located about 1000 m above sea level on the northern base of Mt.Fuji, with 5 likes know to be one of the best places to view Mt. Fuji and to base your climb. In the 3 ...

... think I selected a fish burger. At least it was tasty. We found a spot along the wall by the sea and ate a quick lunch. We then joined the bottleneck of people on the Main Street. Packed shops and restaurants lined the pedestrian thoroughfare leading towards Hetsunomiya, the main Enoshima shrine. We trudged with the masses spending twenty minutes walking two blocks. As we entered the Tori gates, the crowded somewhat dissipated. It was still congested, but ...
