      ... in Hong Kong is the currency so be sure when you leave China that you take out some Hong Kong dollars as CNY is not accepted. The other thing to keep in mind is that the language changes across the border from Mandarin to Cantonese. They are not the same and very different in sounds. Ricky told us that he can only understand a couple of words of Cantonese and that some pronunciations mean 8 different words depending on how you enunciate the syllables!
