... it's very difficult for taxis to get to John's place, it's almost as far to walk to the bus station as it is to catch a taxi. Also I had a 20 euro note with the intention of changing that to Baht in Thailand, plus some coin for bus fare, and a taxi would have meant I had to go back to the ATM - so it was easier to just catch the bus. Good morning. I just arrived at the airport and then, am waiting for connecting flight to ChiangMai. The midnight flight was good, because they brought me to Bangkok, While I was sleeping. ... Palace we wandered into the museum there. We couldn't take photos inside but wanted to share a cool factoid. Many of the stupas on the temple grounds are decorated with ceramic flowers. Made from nipped pieces of colored tile, they are very ornate. We learned that these were nipped from ceramic bowls not tile. The bowls were used as ballast on Chinese ships and were dumped once they got into the Bangkok port. The Thai's then nipped into petal shapes and used to decorate the ...
