Jude: "So are you telling me I am all dressed up and ready to go at this hour on a holiday when I could still be in bed?"
    Charlie: LOL

Well that about sums up the start to our day. But hey, we are allowed to change our minds, especially on holiday!

So today is a trip through the back country of Arkansas and into Louisiana to get to Vicksburg National Military Park in Mississippi. Interesting crossing the ...

... the last 40 miles to Natchez .This was a lovely drive hardly any traffic, in fact Liz counted only 20 cars passed us. The travellers would stop at stands (inns) along the way for bed and food and one of the last ones in existence was the Mount Locust Inn. The travellers would pay 25 cents for bed and food. I set my alarm for 0600h to put my jacket in the sun, but sadly it is overcast, although dry. It is 15 minutes to 1100 AM, departure time, and I have dried everything except my jacket. I have been watching the weather channel for a couple of hours and checked the radar for Mississippi and Arkansas and I feel it is in my best interests to head north today. If I can find some sun I will dry my jacket on the road.

    Talk soon!

... houses with red plaques signifying confederate lines, and one house on my right that was over looking the river even had a cannon in it's backyard. I found myself a late lunch and returned to my room. The weather was starting to look ominous and I knew rains were coming. I went to the gym and before long, it was pouring down. I checked the weather channel back in my room to more reports of bad weather and possible tornados. The weather was just crazy here this time if year. I still slept ...
