... that is like a scone and is mostly eaten instead of bread).  We didn't eat too much so the waiter saved the day by bring us each a piece of toast which we hastily spread with vegemite. It is so interesting to see what people eat for breakfast when you travel - that is probably the one meal where you really pine for familiar food.  Nachez has a very impressive collection of antebellum houses - it was hard to choose which ones to visit but the fact that it ...

... to look for a late lunch. Vicksburg wasn't the quaint historic town we expected, and nearly everything was closed. We finally found a bar / restaurant set up in an old biscuit factory. It was good, with a sweet but ditsy waitress.

Not long after leaving the restaurant, I got suddenly sick as we were getting petrol. Think the milk for my coffee at lunch was off. Spent the rest of the night in the motel room.
