... path leading to pirates cave. After lunch he was determined to do this, I let him go and got comfy by the pool. He arrived back an hour or so later, extremely sweaty, mumbling something about 189 lung busting steps. He says the tread on the steps was double the normal size. So glad I didn't go. Spent a lazy arvo by the pool and a nice dinner out where we got talking to a french couple at the next table. Off north ...

... way to the waterfront. We have picked a bar/restaurant that has a wood fired pizza oven, and we are currently drinking beers while looking out over a beautiful little marina. It is very quiet - we really are at the end of tourist season. Most of the really big hotels and resort complexes are closed up until next summer. I'm sure most of the restaurants won't be far behind. A lot of the shops are empty and we've wondered ...

... great seafood restaurant today - then to a lovely little beach for some relaxing and sun. I love that we have (so far) done three completely different things on this holiday. Lake Como was gorgeous - all beautiful BIG mountains, lakes, ferries and little villages, Tuscany, well, Tuscan, great food, picture postcard views, great wine, history..., and now Sardinia, different again, rugged mountains, beautiful azure blue ...
