This would be an amazing ski resort as there are ski lifts right by our front door, but as it's summer, it's quite quiet in the hotel, for the first time on our trip. Goldfish and I discuss a plan of action over a delicious breakfast of bacon stuffed pancakes at the famous Richard Walker Pancake House. **** it. Let's go for it. Time to pull the trigger and get outta dodge. We'll just take it easy and pace ourselves by taking a lot of breaks on the drive up

... including half dome. It was altogether a lovely day. We went back to drop off the bikes and the lovely girl in the bike rental place would not let us pay! She was so impressed with AK's passport and the fact there is a unicorn on it that she let us have the bikes for free! She was a lovely person but we are not going to mention her name or where we hired the bikes from as we don't want to get her into trouble but thanks to her we had a great free day ...
