13/07/13 Leaving DV and Mammoth Lakes

Woke at around 7am and decided to have breakfast at the hotel. It was ok and it was cheap. Once packed we set off for Darwin a supposed ghost town but I'm not sure how it is a ghost town when 47 people live there. We had to cross another mountain pass to get there and just before we reached the top my bottle went again and Deb had to take over the driving duties again.

Leaving Reno, we traveled down US 395 to Lee Vining, CA on the east side of Yosemite National Park. The early part of the trip was through the board valley between mountain ranges. ... know! .We powerwalked uphill all the way back miles and miles to eventually and luckily meet the 2nd last bus home of the night. I think we learned the following hinking lessons today:
Read the map
Know when the last bus home is
Pack bear pepper spray for bear attacks and
Never hike the expert trails in primark shoes!

Were now in our new hotel....thats 3new hotels in as many nights!!
