ok, it was more "collecting a new country" than being really interested in Monaco. Strange, when you go there from Nice airport by bus it costs you 18 € one way, when you go from Nice bus terminal it costs 1 € one way. Monaco is a very clean city. I have never seen so many big and expensive cars. I saw the casino and the castle. Nice, but not spectacular.
Monaco, Monaco tilman... have an amazing view from Colline du Chateau. On saturday (November 28) we had sunshine and 19 degrees (end of November) and I was even swimming in the sea (15 gegrees), on sunday, November 29 we had rain and thunderstorms so that caused a delay of the plane of three hours. Best breakfast in town you find in "Les pains a tables" close to the market. Nice is a city IŽd love to visit once a year minimum.....
Nice, Provence, France tilmanIt is Sunday and very wet and miserable here in Antibes. Quite a change from the glorious day we had yesterday. Ideal for computer work in fact... (Except that then things didn't pan out as planned and it is now Monday)
It wasn't my intention to have an entry before my departure but the response to my initial circular has been so overwhelming that I feel it merited an ...
... peculator brewing, and more often than not scrambled eggs. Lunch is usually a baguette stuffed with loads of fresh salad, stinky cheese (the smellier the better!!) and Parma ham. Our dinner staples are Spaghetti Bolognaise, Pork Fajitas, Hamburgers with the LOT, Cous Cous ala Gill with chicken and of course no meal starts without the obligatory Ham cheese and olive tapas and a bottle of wine. The other stuff We need to make up our bed every evening as it is made out of ...
Les Arcs sur Argens, Provence, France darrenhough74On this morning we left Switzerland and travelled south into Italy en-route to the French Riviera. The scenery was pretty spectacular, with snow-white capped, jagged mountains that seemed to swallow the highway. Surreal!
When we arrived at our hotel we had about 30 mins to get ready for our trip into Monaco! On our drive to Monaco we crossed the bridge that Grace Kelly was killed on in a car accident. The roads are ...
... weather back home in Melbourne and looked forward to a top of 18 one of the days whilst staying at the hotel and crossed fingers to hopefully get enough sun to enjoy the pool at our shmance hotel. We were very excited for an ensuite AND a double bed AND one doona AND maybe a bath.... Such luxury!!!
On the friday before our hotel stay, which we had decided would be chill time primarily, we decided to try and get some official sight-seeing time in and ventured out on day trip to ...
... and wandered through the harbor. It was filled with Super Yachts. They were huge!! The yachts you see on Lake Minnetonka are the size of the toy boots that these Yachts store inside their hull. Sometimes they even have 2 of these Minnetonka sized yachts in addition to their Jetskis and helicopters. They were ridiculous. I'm pretty sure they are worth more than I would ever make in 4 lifetimes!!
Next I headed to the ...
... this time that a very influential character named Juan Pablo Pablo (incidentally, all Spanish men are named Juan, whether they admit it or not) hit upon an idea that sparked a wave of nihilism throughout Spain. If meetings were rendered unpredictable affairs because of the unpredictability of restaurants, then surely it could work the other way round. He began to wonder what would happen if, instead of grabbing a bite to eat before they met ...
Monte Carlo, Monaco kankel... car park hewed out of the solid rock beneath Old Monaco. You park at astronomical fees, then ascent by stairs and escalators to the ancient alleys of Old Monaco. http://www.monaco.mc/monaco/info/aleisu re.html. We emerge from the car park beside the impressive Oceanographic Institute and Museum, perched vertiginously on the edge of a cliff. Prince Albert I was an avid oceanographer and created this project, which funded may of the expeditions of Jacques Cousteau.
