I woke up this morning as the Silhouette began docking in Genoa, Italy. It was a beautiful morning. Genoa is an ancient city built into the Italian mountainside. It was sort of reminiscent of Monte Carlo, just on a much smaller scale.

Monterosso
... that afternoon. There was a really cool, ancient statue of Neptune on the beach, some nice hiking trails, and we had dinner at a fancy restaurant called Miky. It was soooooo good, except Amir didn't like his lobster dish because it was too much effort to open. I just love the feel of Cinque Terre and cannot wait to spend a whole week or two there sometime. I found THE best gelatto at Fruit and Nut – pistachio, tiramisu, and chocolate chip. I am glad I waited until Monterosso for my first taste of gelatto, it will be hard not to try some in Milan now. Genoa, the home of Christopher Columbus and a town I would like to spend more time in the next time I am back this way.
