    ... on time after all that and got the train straight from the airport station to Lausanne. About 40 minutes through some lovely vineyard hills and along the lakeside. We were met at the railway station by the lovely Veronique from the Lausanne Tourist Agency. She took us to our hotel: the beautiful and rather posh Chateau D'Ouchy, and we checked in. Very nice room.

    When I left the Cathedral I headed back downhill along a narrow wooden stairway. About half way down I found a small bar so I figured that would be a good time to stop for a coffee and a WC break. The outside patio was fairly crowded but there was virtually no one seated inside.
