A visit to Cagliari

A travel blog entry by jane.bezzina on Jun 16, 2015

A half day sight seeing tour of this lovely city. The Sardinian name for the city is "Casteddu" literally meaning castle. The tour takes us past man made wet land within his home to hundreds of np iris including pink flamingoes. Then off to Mount Urpin to enjoy the view over Cagliari's old town. From here we walked around the old district which is surrounded by bastions starting at the St Christina Gate. ...

You may say 'snooze you loose' but there be must enough sun loungers for nearly every passenger and the sun had not yet managed to reach the sun-deck. The English only want to talk about football ...

... t for sale.
The café we went to for lunch was originally used as a post office and still have the places that the horses would drink from at the back of the shop (see picture also). There was a crypt under the shop with bones in, but we couldn't see it because it's to dangerous getting down there.
On the way to the ship we bought some all natural and yummy Sardinian sweets made of almond which are locally grown. Everything was made from almond.
