We took an overnight bus from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang. I didn't realize how air conditioned the bus would be and froze the entire drive. There's either a lot of road construction going on or there aren't roads built yet on that drive. It was bumpy bumpy. About half way through the drive, we came to a stop near a ravine. I looked out my window to see that one of the busses in our 4-bus caravan had slid down the ravine and was lying on it's side. People were hammering out windows and clim...
Nha Trang, Vietnam ashley.fairon Hello everybody!
Sorry we havn't updated our blog in awhile but the computers here are not the best & we've been on the move a good bit since we left Hoi An.
Nha Trang is very different from anywhere we've been so far it's very touristy with lots of high-rise hotels & tourist shops, but we really just came here for the gorgeous beach which is really beautiful & we both needed some lazy 'do nothin' days lying in the sun!!
Other than that its really just bin h...
A short but very scenic flight along the coast brings us to our next stop, Nha Trang. Billed as Vietnam's only real seaside resort it lives up to this. The town is right on the beach and has the usual range of water sports etc. They were recently blessed by having the Miss Universe 2008 pageant in town and are only just getting over it judging by the number of signs still up. There are some hot springs and mud baths nearby, only a few kilometers out of town. We cycled there but it is pretty b...
Nha Trang, Vietnam mpoelzl... traffic at all. even flights were diverted or canceled. So what to do?? At least the weather clearde up, so we rented another scooter for the day and went up North of Nha Trang. Beuatifull scooter ride and we saw a lot of how nice Vietnam is. Private beaches, and again nice people. Had a beer on a local fisher´s beach, where they grill the fish right out of the sea on your plate as the fish is still " Flippin & Floppin" No a good day mixed with the bad day this ...
Nha Trang, Vietnam paulyandblondy... for something to eat & drink. On the way out we picked up our first set of clothes before calling back at second shop. At the second shop the clothes were ready and were really well made – fantastic how quickly they can turn things round and to such quality. Spent quite a time there and also ordered some additional clothing – one shirt to be delivered to the hotel next morning at 6:30 before we left and the rest (waistcoats, trousers) to be delivered to us in ...
Nha Trang, Vietnam the_lightowlers... wouldn't see on on the regular tourist track. He got our interest but we weren't yet convinced. We later stopped by Papa Hahns Easy Rider tour booking office and got the spiel from him as well. We decided we wanted to do it... and now just had to decide who to go with. For the last three days we have been hounded... and I would go as far as to say stalked by Mr. Hai and Papa Hanh, both hungry for the business. In the end we decided to book with ...
Nha Trang, Vietnam heatherlindsay... after Hanoi, and we had a nice big jolly dinner. After dinner, we wanted to meet up with one of Hanan’s co-worker’s relatives (Cuong from Bin Filling has a brother-in-law who lives in Nha Trang), and we had arranged ahead of time to meet him at a local bar called Guava or Mango or something like that. When we met Win, we were surprised at how young he was -- then we quickly became surprised at how much he drank and how much he wanted everyone else to drink ...
Nha Trang, Vietnam sarahandhanan... the Sailing Club which was packed full of locals and backpackers making use of the dance floor. A good night :o) We booked a boat tour for tomorrow that sounds promising, four islands snorkeling and moonshine from a floating bar! After the awful Perfume Pagoda tour (in the rain, disgusting food...) I'm a bit wary of groups tours, but I've heard good things about this one so... we'll see. -M
Nha Trang, Vietnam oandm... the hotel, since it was only a block away we figured why waste a good sunset. now, I've heard quite a few bad things about Nha Trang since I arrived in Vietnam. People keep telling me that it is a trashy city, and that you only go there to party, but I am finding to be a really nice town. The beaches are beautiful, and the city really has a nice charector to it. It's true, there is a little more partying to be done here, but our evening ...
Nha Trang, Vietnam surgeongeneral... tour office in the centre of town. Mmmmm, well worth getting up before dawn for then?!
After a change of bus and me managing to restrain myself from chucking him across the street in frustration we were on our way, an hour and a half late, a record so far on our trip!
Just ...
