    ... on, the sky was blue and the sea was flat, a super sail. What was also lovely was our friends in Nibby were also in Les Sables, but in the different marina further from the town. We cycled  to go and see them the next day in the evening, then said our goodbyes as they were moving further South to Northern Spain quite quickly. We had 3 lovey days in Les Sables, the first day was very hot, so we had a walk but it was too hot to cycle.     ... about 6:00pm. We started writing the Blog for today while we waited for dinner at 7:00pm. Once again we decided to eat in at the hotel - a few reasons being it was inexpensive, easy and also we have not had an opportunity to explore anything in this area other than Puy du Fou - that is probably the reason this hotel exists. For 12 euro per person, we received a glass of sparkling peach wine and delicious, freshly roasted peanuts, followed by a salad ...

    ... live theatre, Sovereign Hill, Circus, Zoo, Healesville Sanctuary, Botanic Gardens, Sentosa Island in Singapore and New Year's Eve in Melbourne. Now that makes it sound quite unique and it really is!!! It takes up 45 hectares and has a separate area of 27 hectares for an evening show called the CinÚscÚnie, which we are seeing on Friday night.

    ... to see such diverse uses of this beautiful countryside all in a short drive.
    I was in this town on way South in May so I knew choices were limited for sustenance but Sundays are even worse. Two bars open and both were going to be closed at 18:00 after paying €10.60 for a large and a small beer....sacre bleu!
    The parks by the river were thronged on this glorious Sunday afternoon, family picnics, cyclists and fishermen on the banks ...

    On Saturday we visited the lovely resort of Sables d'oleronne. We enjoyed a walk along the beach and the waterfront and harbour. We enjoyed a Takeaway on the seafront. We loved looking around a small alleyway where houses are covered in shells.in the evening we had a singalong to guitar accompaniment on the campsite.
