... of cars coming down this road I decided to continue up the pass in hope that the "closed" sign was wrong.
The road made its way up through a few old and wonderful streets of ancient Italian towns which certainly made it interesting but eventually there was a barrier across the road with a notice on it saying "Road closed, trespassers will be fined" and so it was back down the way I had just come all the way to Bormio.

... our very good friends, Ingrid and Frank Kunstel, was especially amazing. We've known each other for over 40 years, so we know each other well. We have a nice rhythm of traveling and being together. Seeing all this with them, experiencing it together, enhanced every minute.

... We got a quick tour to see where he stays and to see some of the classrooms. The boys were very interested in seeing the yr 1 and yr 3 rooms. We then went to say goodbye to Cecila, Livio and Igor. The boys have had a lot of fun with Igor and were happy to hang out one last time, swapping email addresses at the end. Today we had lunch with Johns side of the family (the ones that live in Trentino) at their family restaurant Lanterna Verde (green lantern). John's sister Angela was there, with 6 out of her 8 kids, some of their partners and some of their kids! Some of them work at the restaurant, and some just joined us for lunch.
