      ... about 1 hour on the boat. There is residential along the shoreline and half way up the mountain most of the way around the lake, the further we get away from Como although it begins to thin out and clear townships can be seen.
      Menaggio is, like all the other towns, a holiday destination and at this time of year most of the places are closed. We find somewhere to have lunch and then spend the afternoon wandering through the alleyways ...

      We arrived in this beautiful city at dusk so we weren't able to get the most out of it. Stayed there only for one hour and we spent that time in Parco Civico capturing the flickering lights of the city surrounded by mountains. The view from the shores of Lake Lugano was fascinating. It's truly a must-visit city and I'd love to go back and see it in broad daylight. ...

      After a few days by the sea it was time to head North toward Lago Maggiore and the Swiss border. I had stayed at Lake Maggiore when I was a kid and it was something I remembered as a quiet and beautiful place.       ... a bottle of gin as they have been trying to have a G & T for 2 nights. Their lat bottle of gin was left behind in the shop and this bottle was a replacement.
