What to do on a rainy day

... Indian summer only lasts a week here, and it is over! Good thing we enjoyed the wonderful sunshine this last week. Cruising along in a comfy backseat on a cold wet, dark day makes it hard to see the sights, and the rhythmic slap of the windshield wipers was hypnotic. Word on the street says that Gary, Marianne, and Stella all napped through the south shore and most of the north. Waking up just in ...

... and small rivers. It was a great way to end the first day of driving and remind us that this was the reason we were doing this trip, to find the unexpected gems in this world. All it takes is noticing a little opening in the woods leading to a small path that shows us amazing wonders. We both slept well that first night, warm and cozy and happy that there was so much more to ...

Today did not dawn bright and cheery in Perce, QC. Rather it was wet and windy with temps in the 12 degree Celsius ( 53 degrees F) range. Quite an eye opener from who we went to bed.knowing it was not going to get any better soon, we loaded the bikes, hooked up the electrics (Thank you Rosey for making sure I brought them) and headed out. Route 132 runs along the coast of the Gaspe Peninsula most of the time and the wind coming off of the Gulf of St. Lawrence at 30 knots so ...

We traveled down the St. Lawrence and saw the Montmorency Falls on the way. We saw our first marine mammal, a harbor seal today with hopes of many more tomorrow. We saw several large ships and a ferry but not many other boats. We arrived here about 4:45 PM. It's a small marina with rock breakwaters. We had a quick rain shower after we arrive with a ...

... Luckily it was less than the 2 last days. Arrived in Baie St-Paul under a dark sky again, but not much rain hit me! Discovered that it starts to hurt a bit in your face when going over 60km/h, that's why a bike has breaks I guess. Found a nice little motel with small room (see pic). Has all I need a shower and a bed. Now it's time for a little walk to the village centre and find some food for the evening and tomorrow morning.
