... We were told no photos and to be quiet, which we were, but that was not good enough for some of the monks/priests/people in the church and we were told to leave. A few spots of rain drove us into the souvenir shops and then into the arms of a coffe and a hot chocolate.

We returned to our hotel, which is a converted monastery for our single night in Assisi.

We had a lovely meal of pasta, pork and strudel. Tomorrow the prize of Venice ...

... Gardens, a few km of land set aside to recreate what it may have looked like ages ago. Maya and I hiked to a church and back, having a marvelous time in the brisk mountain air and coolness.
