... When we discussed it later, he did say he didn't like it. So I asked why he drank it up - it was free! was his reply. The wind had dropped a little from the overnight gusts, but it still had that autumn feel in the air. A fish supper is one of our treats at Fécamp, and we tried a different restaurant. Our last 4 nights on route to Paris were spent in Honfleur. This was one of my dad's favourite places on his last trip to France, and I can see why. One is a bright buttery yellow delightfully decorated with darker yellow trim and paintings. Another is a cheerful sky blue with darker blue trim and floral accents. The kitchen is filled with white and blue tiles and orange tiled floor. Perhaps the best parts of every room though are the enormous windows that ...

Today I exited the region of the Normandy beaches and with it the flat farmland that dominates the region and instead passed through the hilly coastal region south of Le Havre. It was filled with upscale communities: giant houses, casinos, hotels, etc. It was spectacular, but also increasingly challenging for a cyclists with narrow hilly roads and lots of traffic.I arrived late to Honfleur and camped in the rain-soaked campgrounds ...
