La Havre

... the first time ever that we have had a bar owner buy us a drink then as we left they wanted to hug and kiss us. It was very cool. We headed home for the night with the problem of not being able to access the water, €5 for 10 minutes, unfortunately the machine didn't like any of our cards and cash was not an option. There were a few other campers around so Brendan headed next door to have a chat with old ...

... but I think we got there. Guess we'll find out if something goes wrong. After a bit of a rest Geoff decided we should go to Honfleur now. I had just done some research that said don't try to park in the town as it is just too hard & the streets too narrow & had worked out how to get there but Geoff decided on a different route & we had finally got the gps working & speaking English (so there us someone we can talk to now). I remembered looking at the pictures in that book and dreaming of this wonderful garden place. I thought that it must be the most beautiful in the whole world, and only hoped and dreamed that one day I would get to see it for myself. These memories flooded back when I walked into the garden. It felt unreal. ...

... and renovated in the 15 century. (No, I haven't gone all religious yet!) They built a wooden frame beside the chapel for all the bells to hang there in the open. Looks quite different! Monet and Boudin were just 2 artists that used to come here to paint.

Another day another journey. Today we went over the Normandie bridge to a little place called Etretat. It's on the English Channel like Honfleur, but it has great looking cliffs.( A bit like the Great Ocean ...
