We realized we rode about 12 miles total (according to my iPhone app) - not as many as we thought, and we could have gone further. We're in what I would call a "low-end" park near Seguin. It's old and in it's "has been" stages. ... and are without shelter. So the Khaled Hosseini Foundation raises money for shelters in a program that works in conjunction with the United Nations. So far, they have built 345 shelters (in about two years, I think...). In response to many requests from students and teachers about how they can help, the Hosseinis then founded a project called SOS (Student Outreach for SHelters), which provides a curriculum and fundraising program for schools.
