My last two days in Tenerife

A travel blog entry by btfreder on Jun 21, 2014

... Lettuce, Cucumber, Green Peppers and Honey Mustard. The sandwich might as well have been shipped from the US, but I didn't care! After that I went to a local store to pick up a few souvenirs (including my own Spanish iPhone case!), and then after picking up a few more friends, we headed down to the beach! As cheesy as it may sound, today actually was in fact the most perfect day to go to the beach; it was sunny, warm, and there was no wind to carry the sand into our eyes. I got ...

... pain. Laura was the resident we followed today, and she was very nice. She was super eager to practice her English with us, and since Mary Hunter doesn't speak much Spanish, I conceded to speaking mostly English in today's shadowing experience. The first patient we saw was a woman from Holland who was on vacation in Tenerife with her husband. She was obese, and experienced premature contractions. Since she was only at 24 months when she arrived at the hospital ...

As much as I want to go home to see my girlfriend, family and dogs, I can't help but loathe the idea of leaving this place. As I've said in other posts, it's such a mystical, charming island with an atmosphere that keeps you wanting more. Every day is a new adventure, and I'm addicted to that. The good news is that as soon as I get back, I'll be keeping myself busy with class and MCAT studying, so I won't ...

... customs, into a taxi to arrive at Tony's apartment on Palm Beach. I had achieved the journey out and felt good. My gratitude to everyone who helped is beyond words and with a special 'thank you' to the wheelchair angel at Tenerife South airport who managed to clear a speedy flight path through crowds of passengers with her verbal beep beeping and deliver me from aircraft to taxi in record time.

Our first day on the island was spent exploring ...

    Week3---WEEKEND---week4

A travel blog entry by btfreder on Jun 11, 2014

... since it was in the south we had absolutely perfect weather. It was extremely sunny and warm, but not uncomfortably hot or humid--perfect weather for the beach. The south is the most popular tourist area on the island, so everyone on the beach spoke an awkward mix of Spanish, English, French and German. The beach itself though was among the top five most beautiful beaches I've ever been to. The sand was a mix of black and white, so it had this cool brown/silver color I've never ...
