After the picturesque departure from Lisbon at sunset the Captain informed us there would be ocean swells. This is small cruiseship, they call it a yacht. As usual just getting out of Midland is the most difficult part of the journey. Leave on time? if your not on Southwest, forget it. I have never been on a flight where the take off has been aborted. Just as we began to take off the pilot hit the brakes and aborted. If I had eaten breakfast it would have ...

Of course, the Flats have a picture taken there as well.
Everyone is exhausted after driving. 300 miles today so we headed back to the hotel to pack for our trip home.

The continuing saga of our journey... Breakfast at Whataburger. Can't get better than that! A very large bull. Oil wells, and windmills and nothing else, oh my! Lunch at truck stop. Yay for air conditioning! Big wreck on I-20. Detoured to frontage road...on the other side of the expressway. Felt like I was driving in New Zealand or something! We saw a train...sad to say we were excited that there was some scenery! Speed limit is 80...we top out at about 65. ...
