It's cold! The good news is - no bugs :-). However, I found the only insect (a wasp) flying around when cooking, it disappeared for a bit and I discovered it crawling and then when I slapped it, stinging me on the top of my leg. It had somehow, climbed into my trousers all the way up my leg and stung me good and proper when it was getting beaten up by me! Poor wasp is worse off than me. Anyways, as soon as we crossed the border and turned a corner into Colorado, ...

I liked seeing all the crops and the cattle; the sky was clear blue (a tinge of cloud on the northern horizon); we even sang "oh what a beautiful morning, oh what a ......." - you get the drift! We were rather keen to see the wagon ruts on the Santa Fe wagon train trail. We knew they were very faint, but had heard they could be seen near Clayton - in ...

Leaving the Great Plains today and going in to New Mexico heading for the Rockies. Looking forward to seeing some elevation today.

But the big news is that it is Bill's birthday.

Katrina had given me a card to give him but I could not let the occasion pass with just a "Happy Birthday, here's your card"

I gave him a little birthday treat (no Cedric not that kind of treat).

We were not sure what sort of a day it was going to ...

Nay is bundled up on a cushy motel bed, watching a cooking show and sniffling like mad. We've been up since 6am mountain time, the same hour we've woken every day so far. This is the first day we haven't hit the road by 6:30. Hoping a few extra hours of rest and cool will go towards making him feel better. Better or not, we'll be on the road soon, heading to the Great Sand Dunes. I've been there once before, briefly, a ...
