A Day in Seattle

... Views from the top floor were incredible. Next stop was a visit to the University of Washington. Situated on the water, it was an impressive campus.
We then took off for Pike Place Market. This was a huge open air market....fish, flowers, fruits, vegetables....you name it. The market itself was blocks long ...

Leaving Lake Tahoe and California

Out and About hotel

... Horse rides through the country side, a huge zip line coarse, or a natural river fed pool, they had it made. And, they were super nice and let me check out the rooms, use their wifi, and thankfully, play their piano. It's a bit pricey, but how often do you get to wake up in the tree tops! After a few hours I "B" lined it back to the coast. Next stop, San Fransisco.

Funtime at the Fun Farm

... or even a BBQ dinner, etc. Then on Labor Day weekend we had two big parties. First, on Saturday, we had about 25 people at Sami's for BBQ chicken and pot luck dishes and most importantly, for me, was the Costco cake (that I really like and never have a chance to get), so we called the party an 'Un-Birthday Party' and everybody had a good time.

Then on Sunday, we went over to other friends, Patty and Tim's place for BBQ hamburgers and lots more. Again ...

catch up time

... We walked around for a bit at Portland - not a whole lot there either. Decided not to stay there cos we had some time to make up so we kept driving - said we'd stop at 7pm wherever we were haha. So we ended up staying at a super 8 at Creswell about an hour south of Salem. The guy at the front desk was hilarious - he loved our accents so just kept on ...

... if you buy your beer at the distributors on the leeward side of the island. Wish Willy's is a great if not unique dining experience. Overall Caye Caulker is a little touristy but not too bad. Placencia is a nice "village" . The village label barely fits because it seems more like a town. The are more tourists there than in Caye Caulker thus more selections of restaurants and various services. You can walk anywhere in the "village". If taking the bus to ...

Getting ready to go!

... Raggamuffin' Tours. 3 days 2 nights with snorkeling, fishing and camping out on a couple cayes along the way. Sounds just terrible but I think we can tough it out. Once in Placencia we will be staying at Harry's Cozy Cabanas for 6 nights. After that we haven't planned anything really. We are planning on seeing some Mayan Ruins but not sure which ones. Car rentals are way to spendy so we probably will take the bus alot. My (Jill's) dad left today for Hopkins Village, so ...

My decisions, goals and plans (lots of reading)

... have done it but I got to see it and another day Williamsburg and another day Virgina Beach. So again, I never had to do any travel planning as my cousin was supposed to be our guide but she kept putting it off so we ended up only doing 3 1/2 days worth of sightseeing before having to go home in the 6 total days we were there and so I wasn't impressed and I highly doubt I will go see Washington DC again as I have pretty much seen most of the major stuff such as Smithonian ...

Welcome to Oregon! Richard and Vilma and cousins!

So we head south to Brian's birth state, which makes him an Oregonian! There we find our long lost friends from Volcano the Neads and Brian's cousins. River rafting, flower shows, hiking, GIANT REDWOODS and seal watching are all highlights. Oh, and let's not forget the dune bashing on quads. Very eco-friendly....

We almost made it...

... to Berkeley to Marin County, through Santa Rosa...it was six lanes, 65 mph, lots of cars but not enough to slow it down, smog and glitter and all of that. Past Santa Rosa it thinned out, as if that was as far from the Bay Area most people were willing to live and commute. The traffic lessoned, the development fell off, and we were driving through the grassy hills of Sonoma County. It was like six hours of West Virginia on the interstate, fast, but ...
