          Mediocre hotel with friendly staff

The staff was very friendly and helpful but the hotel is dull and dreary.

Room was an adequate size but bathroom was small and although it smelled heavily of bleach and cleansers the tub was old and stained. Furnishings are sparse but adequate.

The plan for this morning was to do nothing.  A plan we successfully achieved with very little effort on our part. The only real task in the plan was to call Orange Torpedo Rafting and setup an afternoon half-day whitewater rafting trip.  One thing I learned about the Pacific Northwest, when the weather report …

Today we are off to Crater Lake National Park. We heard lots of good things about this park from people we have met on the road. When we were gassing up the bike this morning, we ran into another couple from Iowa, on a Yamaha Motorcycle towing a trailer and heading to the same place. As we began the ascent on OR-138E, OR-230E, and OR-62E, the …

Todays travel ended at Grant's Pass, Oregon. Wikipedia gives quite a few details about its history, but it's the stuff you find out by accident that is more telling, in this case we were told that Grant's Pass had its own very strong chapter of the KKK. Funnily enough that doesnt get a wikimention.
