Riverview, Florida, United States gospeltime... the oak grove to look at the view and enjoy the breeze. The sun dial also includes a carved graph that provides information about how to convert what you see on the dial to Eastern Standard Time ... not sure I've ever seen one of those before.
After viewing the gardens, I walked the Pine Ridge Preserve Trail -- it begins at the "Window by the Pond" -- a viewing shack for bird watching. As I entered, I thought, "It's like those viewing stations in African ...
Taking advantage of our Thousand Trails Membership to kick back for a week at the "Orlando Preserve", which is really in nearby Clermont. Unfortunately, the pool is too cold to swim in, but we used the hot tub one day. Every night, at 9 and 9:45 p.m., we can hear the "boom" of firewords ...
Clermont, Florida, United States pykesonthego... chasing dolphins around the Gulf of Mexico on my uncles new toy (a cool boat!) the water is pretty clear (and frighteningly shallow at times without warning!). We were lucky to see a stingray flapping around and also not only to see but hear squeaking and just about touch some dolphins! They were so beautiful, coming right up to the boat and splashing around.
On halloween eve it was time to exercise the vocal cords and we were whisked off by the older cuz's visiting ...
... which I was grateful for. I had thought that I was going to have to drive us home that night, but Conrad agreed that it would be better for us to stay there for the night. It didn't take long before the jetlag caught up to us. We called our perspective parental units to let them know we had arrived safely, got some food in our bellies, and passed out!! In the morning we head home, where we can see our girls and the comfort of our own beds ...

... me of when I flew with United Airlines to Las Vegas last March and I watched not one, not two but three flight attendants cautiously step over the same foot-long piece of toilet paper in clear efforts to avoid stepping on it and having it stick to their shoe. That would mean they’d have to bend down and pick it up. This of course happened shortly after my friend, who may have been plummeting into a battle with hypothermia because the air ...
New York City, Florida, United States katieware... Even though I don't know who you are-- THANK YOU. We continue to lift up our concerns about fundraising for this trip and are excited to see how the one who always provides will provide again. What's amazing is that the provision comes through the use of "normal" people. Praise! Praise!
Lakeland, Florida, United States l4hcic... Studios and Islands of Adventure. Islands of Adventure seems to be the more popular park as it has more traditional theme park rides, whereas Universal Studios has more simulators, shows and movie experiences. The best ride is The Mummy, it's a rollercoaster with a twist, and some very good special effects. Jaws is a good ride as well. Our last day in Orlando, we spent shopping. Or rather, Graham went shopping, and I lazed about around the hotel and did ...
Orlando, Florida, United States shonandgraham... you have to have a safety drill before you can start your vacation. This was the first of many that I would participate in, but it was relatively painless. Other than the fact that I looked like a complete idiot with this life jacket on! Just as soon as the drill was over, the ship was moving. We went to the deck to watch the land fade away and my first cruise had officially begun!
