Now that we are home I wanted to share what we have learned about Belize. Caye Caulker is a cool funky little island but tourists beware of smoking pot. We met a guy who got shaken down by the local cop(s) for smoking a joint at the end of a pier. The cop took all the money in his wallet and his weed (probably for re-sale). I forgot to tell you yesterday about my pleasant experience with our first gas stop in Oregon. I got out and shoved the VISA in the slot, and reached for the nozzle. A very nice young man gently grasped my hand and said "I'll do that for you, sir". I thought it was some kind of scam, and said "Why"? He replied "To keep you from getting arrested, it is illegal to pump your own gas in Oregon". Nowhere in Oregon do you pump ...

So we head south to Brian's birth state, which makes him an Oregonian! There we find our long lost friends from Volcano the Neads and Brian's cousins. River rafting, flower shows, hiking, GIANT REDWOODS and seal watching are all highlights. Oh, and let's not forget the dune bashing on quads. Very eco-friendly....
