... to go trekking but we saw some excellent sides of the mountain. Over the course of three days, we hiked to three of the best views on the western side: Eagle Peak, Gobbler’s Knob, and Van Trump Park (by way of Comet Falls). It was a refreshing break from urbanity and great to sit out under the stars every night with a campfire.

Wow 12 days and counting!
Well after finishing another ski season, 4 wild and lovely days at Coachella, and completing a whirlwind week of packing, moving and saying many "goodbyes" or "see ya agains"; it was time to leave Tahoe and head to Medford. The days leading up to my departure consisted of off-loading every disposable possession and spending as much time as possible with friends. As usual, this time centered around the lake and beer. ...

It worked out great, because later that evening after the "no vacancy" sign was put out I was called by name "Cash" as I passed by the Camp Store on "Betty". It turns out some other Bicycle Tourist recognized me and "Betty" from the Bike/Hiker camp site at Burney Falls ...
... that put Yosemite on the map. Again, we were warned by the rangers about the possible presence of bears in and around the campgrounds and the precautions one must take about the safe storing of foodstuffs etc but of a bear we saw nothing which was a bit of a disappointment.
