We are now making our way to the Rocky Mountains but due to the sheer distance, we have planned a few stops on the way. Our first was to Big Bend National Park in West Texas. The drive to the park held exquisite scenery; huge mountains sat at various levels in the distance and were surrounded by huge stretches of desert-like ground with bare trees and prickly bushes hiding the obvious wildlife that probably appreciated the lack of human interaction. ... besides, the museum/library has only been open to the public recently. It was nice to see so many visitors! Our Presidential Museums/Libraries are very interesting and most informative, including many interactive theatres where one can engage in typical episodes of the Presidential era. It's a great opportunity for child and adult to experience our country's heritage--it's trials and dilemmas.
Waco, Texas Habitat For ...
Our Hill Country weekend began Thursday night at the Baylor / Oklahoma football game at Floyd Casey Stadium in Waco. Our Bears broke open a close game late in the first half and ran away with a convincing 41-12 win over the Sooners in front of a sold out crowd and nationally televised audience.
Our fellow travelers for the weekend, Barry and Sylvia from Magnolia, were seeing parts of Texas for the first time. Sylvia was attending her first college football game
