... last the statue - we opted for the latter. The harbour had reopened luckily so we got to don the full trip. We slowly cruised last the Statue of Liberty and and then turned into the East river and saw the heliport with the four helicopters associated with President - two large military helicopters. We later saw them flying overhead when we lined up for a bus. The ferry trip gave good photo opportunities not only of the statue but of New Jersey - on the other side if ...

We will see the Empire State Building and anything else we can by about 2:30 in the afternoon, when we will take the bus back here and start our drive to Plymouth. Google Maps also thinks this trip will take 4 hours. I imagine we will have to stop a bit short of Plymouth and finish getting there on Tuesday. Time will tell.

We are very happy with the Bus company we chose, because the buses are so frequent and the commentary is excellent by all the operators. However, they all remind us too often that they and the drivers rely on our tips and they've gathered a wealth of knowledge which is to our advantage and which saves us time and money. Spare me ...

... turned grey. We entered the Roc and went through the security checks for our turn up the tower and notice some rain spattering the windows. And as we got to the line at the lifts they made an announcement that a storm had rolled in,the viewing platform was closed as there was lightening at the top of the tower, and there was zero visability. We had the option of going up (and seeing what?!) or exchanging our tickets for another day. We decided ...
