... the front of the train and disembark. As we got to the front car the doors closed and the train travelled to the next station. We bailed and walked back to Little Italy for dinner at Grotta Azzura. The building next door had a fire alarm so we were treated to a full size FDNY ladder truck arrival, fireman inspecting building and then departure. Great dinner ...

... and I went to find something in Times Square. We found St.Patricks Cathedral and the Public Library. The Cathedral was good and looked a lot like St.Mary's. The library was pretty, but most of it was shut, because of renovations, so we got out and waited to meet Mum.

When we did, we decided to head home. With the help of the Subway system, we got there pretty quickly.

At last we arrived at our hotel, Comfort Inn W 71st Street. It looked ok at first sight, so close to Central Park and Strawberry Fields. We dropped off the bags (room not ready) and strolled through Central Park in very warm ...

Today, a day in transit, therefore most of the day waiting for transfers, and waiting for our American Airlines flight to New York. All went well and we arrived at JFK on time and caught a taxi to Manhattan to David (Graham's son). David, Doni, Lucas and Rory were there to meet us. It was good to see them all ...
