... with the kids! On the 26th, we will head back to New York before departing for Malawi on the 27th.
We'll arrive in Malawi in the evening on the 28th. My best friend, Ireen, will meet us at the airport (along with some or all of her 13 family members). We'll make our way back to her village and sleep there that night. It will be an experience, as there is no electricity or running water there. I'm mostly ...
... hr trip south.
Daniel was gracious enough to pause the UNC basketball game and took me to the airport. It reminded me of 2 years ago when Greg Salazar and I were being dropped off in DC to embark on what was my first big backpacking trip, that time in Europe. Good memories. This time, however, I will be my own travel buddy. This does make me nervous, as I love to be around people! But reading our All Saints Church ...
Managed to get out of the hotel by just before 8, but after navigating Queens and Brooklyn traffic we probably lost a lot of our early start. Stopped in New Jersey at a pull-off travel centre with a food court and had Burger King for breakfast – yes, I know, how unhealthy!! Then back on the road through Baltimore (I couldn't stop singing 'Good Morning Baltimore' from the movie 'Hair' – well, at least ...
... would be there. The show went well, except for one teacher who decided to try and film the whole show. An adult!! A teacher! What kind of example are these people setting for their students? He was escorted to the lobby and watched as he had to delete the footage. He they returned to his seat and enjoyed the rest of the show.
For the record... NEVER film or take any pictures of a show. It is against the law. And don't do it in front of your students. It ...

Woodland Hills, North Carolina, United States woodlandhills... heads chopped off, but I couldn’t look. I was seriously gagging by now. I was holding my breath. He said, that they dunk the chicken heads into a chemical that numbs them, and then they get slaughtered..Man, it was an experience and I still can’t even think about it.
I couldn’t focus the rest of the day…

Hver mandag, skal vi stå skoleret, være pænt klædt og afrapportere til ledelsen
i fonden. Vores karakter bliver bl.a. givet på baggrund af hvor godt vi performer og hvor
meget ansvar vi påtager os. Desuden skal vi udvælge en aktie, som vi skal følge

... of 30+ miles of walking, a summit push, and one hour of sleep had left me exhausted and wrecked. While proud of the accomplishment I was overwhelmed by a single certainty: Never Again. If given the choice of redoing this semester I wouldn't change it. It was a fascinating experience in a bizarre place. Just like climbing Kilimanjaro I am glad that I did it. However, I again leave with an absolute certainty: Never Again.
Raleigh, North Carolina, United States benclark5... from either hurricanes, tornadoes, violent snow storms, baking heat, flooding, vivid although impractical topography. This by nomeans exhaustive list of the geographic problems of America does narrow the field very quickly. Eventually either because all present on the boat were(at least recently) from Maryland, we agreed on Maryland. On paper it is a clear contender. Although occasionally at risk from the odd huricane and flooding from the Chesapeake, no ...
Raleigh, North Carolina, United States acfnoel... back?!?) and find a great Irish bar / restaurant beside the hotel that served a very passable Guinness (although maybe my taste buds have been ruined by the other dodgy pints I've had while I've been here!) Great, relaxing and friendly place for sure, just a shame that I've got to leave at 9am the next day... Ah well, onwards and upwards I guess.
