... had a cold drink. Took a cold shower and then tried to sleep - it was very hot.

Breakfast of coffee and oatmeal, made with my immersion water boiler. Set off for Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas. Drove through Mt. Pleasant, TX which was NOT pleasant - the odor from the chicken processing plant (Pilgrim's Pride) smelled TERRIBLE all the way through town! Glad I did not plan to stay here last ...

Drove to Mt. Pleasant, TX for a quick KOA stay. Not the fanciest RV park, but it had a huge fenced dog yard.

Very nearly dropped the fifth wheel onto the truck bed. I guess I still need to use a checklist to make sure I do everything in the right order. I didn’t block the tires and the landing gear wasn’t all the way down before I opened the hitch. So I watched in horror as ...

... well, Tex-Mex, but it's a local take on things :-p), and then did something very American: we went shooting! This was very new for me as I have never held a proper gun before, let alone a loaded one and then shot it! I'm probably very wrong, but I shot a revolver, a pistol and a rifle...and I seemed to get along best with the revolver. There were some old cans and buckets to shoot at (nothing alive!) and I managed to get pretty good aim with the revolver :-p ...

      The Lone Star State

... last night I was so so tired from the previous week that after dinner I pretty much passed out for the night! After 12 hours of sleep, I eventually woke up and today has been a nice gentle day of pottering about their house and land. After breakfast/lunch, Chris and I went and had a walk around their land and saw their pond and the small ...
