... That night, as the kids were laying in our sleeping bags inside the tent, Lucy and I were still awake. All night he tent had bulging a little inwards due to wind, but not enough to cause alarm. I was a little worried, but not much as I THOUGHT we had staked the tent. Between one instant and another, the wind was all of a sudden 60 MPH!!! You heard me. 4 pairs of Jeans, 7 blouses, 2 sweaters, 1 rain jacket, unmentionables (enough that I will not go for the inside out strategy mentioned above), sleepwear, a computer, a kindle, a Nixon D90 camera and 2 lenses. A rain jacket and blanket. Batteries and such small items were packed in a small bag.

... decided the Texas experience had to include Ribs. She pulled over in a small place called Columbus, TX and we stopped at the BBQ King. The place was full of Deer and Bears heads etc.
We ordered the 'standard' for this place which was ribs and 3 salad/veg. The food was amazing for only about $9 each.....certainly only 2 of these required a day if living her full time.
The owner of the place even walked around to meet the customers and thank them all ...
