Last night I got to exploring the "default" party scene in Austin, consisting of a few blocks of sixths street which are closed to cars on Friday and Saturday nights. Tons of revelers, mostly of the student variety, lots of booze, including a few acceptable local beers, and a higher density of DJs and cover bands than I've seen in a while. It offers a large selection of everything from hardware to cosmetics, small appliances to groceries. While in the market we peruse the fresh meat cases. You know you are in the South when you find boiled crayfish and fresh chicken feet! ...
